A digital experience that captures the spiritual essence of the Canary Islands.

Overview

Hala-Ken is the Canary Islands Council of Visions — a festival bringing together art, music, and spiritual practices. They needed a website that could convey the energy of the event while handling practical needs: ticket sales, artist programming, and a gallery of 68+ photos from past editions.

The Challenge

The previous site was a simple landing page that couldn't convey the depth of the experience. Festival-goers had to rely on social media for updates, and the organisers were losing direct bookings to third-party platforms.

Our Approach

We started by attending a Hala-Ken gathering to understand the energy firsthand. The design language emerged from that experience: earthy tones, flowing layouts, and imagery that breathes. We built a dynamic countdown system, integrated ticketing, a newsletter signup, and an immersive photo gallery.

Key Results

  • 68+ photo gallery with lightbox and lazy loading
  • Dynamic countdown timer with event scheduling
  • Integrated ticket system replacing third-party platforms
  • Newsletter signup with 340+ subscribers in first month
  • Mobile-first design — 72% of traffic is mobile
